Nashville Life Music‘s song, “Looking Up” (ft. CeCe Winans), reminds of the promise found in Psalm 121:1 — that our help comes from the Lord.

The Story behind “Looking Up”:
Before long, the famous scripture came to mind, ‘I will lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? It comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.’ I loved the play on words that combined this encouraging verse with the modern phrase, ‘Things are looking up!’ I knew I wanted this song to bring hope and joy to people who were going through difficult challenges. After thinking about the verses for a minute, I wondered if the rest of Psalm 121 would offer any help. And I struck gold! I realized the whole song had already been in Scripture, and all I had to do was shape the words into lyrics that fit the uptempo vibe. We tried it out at church soon after, and it was an electrifying experience. Our pastor, CeCe Winans, took over the song like only she can and started singing the vamp ‘It’s coming from the Lord!’ — over and over again. We sang it for at least 10 minutes, and I knew God had favored us with something very special. I hope ‘Looking Up’ reminds people of God’s power and ability to solve any problems we face.” – Dwan Hill, “Looking Up” songwriter
