So, I got this email the other day about a new wildlife documentary described as “Disney Earth with a Christian worldview”. Of course, that peeked my interest. (Whenever I take a moment to really see the world around me, I’m completely transfixed by nature. Aren’t you?)
My curiosity getting the better of me, I risked seeing footage of snakes (I HATE SNAKES!) and watched the trailer for The Riot and the Dance, a new cinematic celebration of God’s creation.
Sure enough, the stunning nature video montage included a bit of the fanged creatures that always give me the willies. But, watching the trailer also brought with it a sense that this particular project might be worth viewing, especially as the narrator spoke this line:
“The Word of God is not just in black and red letters on onion skin pages. It’s living and breathing in the mountains, the deserts, and the trees.”

Being a fan of hummingbirds (almost as much as I’m not a fan of snakes), I was thrilled to see the documentary also touches on these incredible, tiny winged fliers.
