We know that because Jesus rose from the dead, we have full confidence in life after death. One of the most amazing promises given to us in Scripture is that death will not have the final say.
But what if Jesus’ resurrection means more than that? What if – because of the resurrection of Jesus – we are to have full
So often, when my alarm clock rings, I’m hitting the snooze. I’m dragging my tired body to the coffee maker. And when I see the resurrection as only applying to me post-mortem, I might as well just go back to bed and seek shelter under the sheets and just try to stay comfy until the trumpet sounds.
But, the reality of the resurrection is that I’m being offered life to the full – life abundant – HERE, in the present. We see it in the Bible.
The Book of Romans boldly proclaims that the same power that raised Christ from the dead is living in us; begging not for the afterlife, but to be a part of our way of life.
Each time you take something lifeless and broken and restore it, you are practicing resurrection.
When we live out the message of the resurrection, we allow that same power that raised Christ from the dead to work in us. Dead things don’t have to stay that way and that even the bleakest of circumstances imaginable can be restored – in our own lives and in the world around us.
So, let’s breathe resurrection into our own lives and into the world – starting right now.
