One of the things I love doing is sharing people’s stories. The production and media team I work with spends time filming and documenting stories from across the United Kingdom, so believers across the globe can hear what God is doing.
Whether it’s Levi’s story of how God is creating a new life for him or Issy’s story of how God broke through her depression and suicidal thoughts, the stories we hear about how God is changing lives are truly remarkable. It’s hard not be moved when you watch Harry’s salvation story.
One of the reasons that testimonies, our stories, are so important, and why sharing them is so powerful, is that they have a supernatural power to replicate miracles in the lives of their hearers.
OK, so what does that mean? Well, Revelation 19:10 says that “the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” Testimony, recalling what God has done, is connected to what God will do – prophecy! When we share a testimony or story of what God has done in our lives, we are actually proclaiming that what He’s done once, He can do again.
Romans 10:17 says that ‘faith comes by hearing – and hearing by the word about Christ.’ Faith is born in hearts by hearing about Christ and that includes hearing about what He has done for someone else.
When we hear about how He has financially provided for someone, we begin to believe that He could bless us too. When we hear about healing, we are inspired and encouraged to pray for the sick. When someone shares their experiences that resulted in salvation, we are much more likely to feel the faith and courage to share our faith with others.
So, if you have a story of what God has done in your life, no matter how big or small, share it and see God multiply it.
